"Everyone" has a xe moto (motorbike) in Vietnam, just like every American has a car. We have been doing without since we relocated here, preferring to travel around by bus. We had also taken the warnings of Virtual Doug to heart -- read his article here about the high risk of motorbike travel in Viet Nam.
But we finally succumbed and bought a Vietnamese-made brand of a Japanese-Vietnamese joint venture -- VC brand, which is only fitting.
The brand name is actually weise@, but for some reason, they put a VC symbol on the front.
Everyone told us to skip the cheap bikes and go for the dependable imported Honda, but this bike came for a third of the price (US $550), so we shall see how it runs.
