While out at the café this morning socializing with co-workers, Phuong Oanh noticed a beautiful insect on the tree behind Tra Giang. I handed my cell phone to Tra Giang and she caught these photos of the bug.
Six legs, body about 6 cm long, shiny blue-black exosketon, big yellow square flag on its back, and the most amazing feature: the yellow-hooked antennae. Anyone know what it is? This is the first time I have seen an insect like this.
I hope my daughter Erika the biology teacher will look this up in one of her textbooks.
