I may be prone to some over-generalizations sometimes, so please bear with me. For example, in my visits to Japan, I am convinced that they are a nation of drinkers (and I fit right in). The Chinese, on the other hand, are definitely a nation of eaters, and they eat all of the time.
We arrived in Tangxian last last night and our hosts took us out for a late night snack in the downtown. I was amazed to see the restaurants full at 11:00 p.m. at night in a relatively small town or city. Families, coworkers, groups of teenagers, all enjoying the good food and company.
