We are having too much fun in one of the most beautiful parts of the world -- Guilin and Yangshuo China. This area is nestled among the limestone "karsts" or upright mountains that line the Li River valley. The scenes from this area are the subject of most Chinese scroll paintings.
We spent a couple of days in Guilin and are now in the picturesque village of Yanghuo, which is overrun with tourists of all kinds.
Tomorrow we move to another village along the Li River, and then will start our bus trip (trains are too difficult, I guess -- alot of Chinese discussion went on around me to reach this decision.) down into Vietnam. We should arrive in Vietnam on 30 October. I would hope that our next posting might be around 1 or 2 October. Hang in with us until then.
