While I have been anxious for our first development project to be financed and licensed, I have enjoyed having time to walk around my new neighborhood, explore, and take pictures of houses and design touches to publish on the blog here. While I have no part in the financials since I am not a business type, I am doing research on how we will implement master planning, environmental reviews, design assistance, and construction here in Việt Nam once we get started. It now appears that financing will be ready in June. This project is a very large resort to be constructed north of Quy Nhon in Bình Định Province on the south-central coast of Việt Nam. Pictures of the site can be seen on our project website.
Since we are also an architectural firm, we are being invited to submit qualifications for master plans of large development projects. I just submitted a package for a new tourist city southeast of Thành Phổ (City) Hỗ Chí Minh on the coast.
We are also being asked by local developers to help them find financing for their projects. Since this might also lead to master planning and architectural design services, I am following up on a few of these opportunities. There seem to be hundreds of them, though.
So that's my excuse for not posting to the blog lately. The trick now is to achieve some balance between work and exploring.
