A couple of weeks ago, after the large site behind our house had been completely cleared and flattened, workers showed up to erect a temporary tent structure.
I originally thought they would use the empty site for parking motor bikes for awhile, but it turned out the tent was for a ground-breaking ceremony, held a week ago.
I noticed they were going to have some dancers or performers, so I thought I would go down to take a closer look.
I managed to take a photo from the front gate before the security guards waved me off. You can't attend these events (not that you would want to) without an invitation card.
Another large site around the corner from my house on Phan Xích Long Street will have a ground-breaking ceremony tomorrow.
This site will have an ugly 14-story private hospital.
