I value very highly good writing, so my hobby is searching for interesting essays in blogs and on websites such as Longform.org. Today the Twitter feed from @VietnamBlogs brought me to an extremely well-written blog entitled Only OK posting about the romantic environment of Hanoi. In the post titled "Hanoi, The Sexy City", Andy Engelson writes very evocatively about the sensual nature of Hanoi and its people. I could say the same about Ho Chi Minh City but I can't write half as well as Mr. Engelson. Then @VietnamBlogs came through again with an English-language posting in a blog called "The drifting cloud" by a very young Vietnamese girl named Pham Ngoc Lien. And the subject matter was essentially the same -- her posting titled "For Hanoi" presents a very personal poetic description of her native Hanoi. Again, I wish I could write anywhere near as well as this young person.
I am ecstatic reading these essays.
